El-Dara is a mythical city that is supposedly filled with food and riches. Said to be located in the furthest corners of Third Earth, El-Dara is supposed to be cool in the summer and warm in the winter and a place where every family lives happily ever after.
El-Dara is mentioned in a storybook that WilyKit and WilyKat's father used to read to them all the time. Believing that the city actually exists, the Wily twins set out to search for it after their father is killed in a tornado. They feel that if they find it then it would solve all of their family's problems and while they are gone, their mother would have two less mouths to feed.
While searching for the city, the twins end up enduring a lot of hardships, living in the slums of Thundera and turning into pickpockets in order to survive. It is during this time that they join up with Lion-O and the other ThunderCats and eventually themselves become ThunderCats and helping Lion-O in this figth against Mumm-Ra.
