|LJN Red Lion-O|
|Features||5 points of articulation|
|Previous||LJN Mad Bubbler|
|Next||LJN Purple Mumm-Ra|
Red Lion-O is one of the unproduced ThunderCats toys that were made by LJN Toys. The figure is based on the original 1980's cartoon version of evil Lion-O as he appeared in the episode Fond Memories. The evil Lion-O was actually Mumm-Ra in disguise.
1. Poseable limbs and head: The Red Lion-O figure would have had 5 points of articulation, 2 at the shoulders, one at the neck, and 2 at the hips. These points allowed the figure to be posed in a variety of action poses.
The Red Lion-O was featured prominently on the backing card of the LJN Thunderwings Lion-O as well as the box of the LJN Thunderwings. In both these appearances the figure is depicted with the Thunderwings Transporter on its shoulders.
The design and color of the Red Lion-O is very true to its cartoon counterpart, as made evident by the figure's red outfit and red boots.
Due to the figure never reaching production stage nor its appearance in any LJN catalogs as a separate figure, very little is known about it. It still remains unknown if the Red Lion-O would have featured the "Battle-Matic Action" and/or the "Light-Up Eyes" like the normal LJN Lion-O. Whether any accessories were planned to be included with the figure also remains unknown.
Following the launch of the new ThunderCats series in 2011, Bandai Toys also released a Red Lion-O figure a year later. The figure was part of Bandai's "Classics" 8 inches line which consisted of two other Lion-O figures and one Tygra figure. The figure was available exclusively at the Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention (STGCC), making it quite a collectors' item.
Unreleased: Despite being advertised on some catalogs, the Red Lion-O figure never went into production.
