ThunderCats Bullet Point SummaryEdit

The Heart Of Xurdimur:
Written by Ian Rimmer
Art by Bert Hill, Martin Griffiths, Stuart Place & Annie Halfacress

Lion-O keeps having a recurring dream of dangerous corridors that lead to a crystal of pure Thundrillium. Finally, he decides to act on the dream, charging off in the middle of the night alone to find this place and the crystal that can power the ThunderCats' home and vehicles for years to come. Jaga briefly appears to warn Lion-O that dreams can turn into nightmares, but the young Lord presses on. After some close calls in the corridors, Lion-O manages to reach the chamber containing the crystal. Once Lion-O removes the crystal however, a deluge began to spill forth from behind large wooden doors. He managers to close the doors and uses the Sword of Omens to hold them that way. Now he's faced with the dilemma on whether to leave the crystal or the Sword - it's clear he can't take both. Or can he?

As mysterious and hollowed looking men close in on him, Lion-O picks up one of their spears and notices it's head is shaped just like the coveted crystal. He uses the head of the spear to take the crystal's place on the pedestal and all seems well. The sub-men however, explain that the crystal drew them all there via their dreams and though they were among the few who survived trying to take it, they were doomed to stay there. But if Lion-O were to leave with it, they would perish. Taking the compassionate route, Lion-O replaces the crystal just as the arrow head replacement cracks under pressure. By his kind act, he saved all their lives from watery doom.

Afterward, Lion-O heads back to the Lair and looks forward to some sleep, but just as he settles in, Snarf wakes him with the promise of a busy day ahead.

ThunderCats Bullet Point Notes of interestEdit

  • Although this issue shares the same cover art as Thundercats (Star Comics) # 8, the stories are different.
  • Unlike the majority of stories published by Marvel UK, 'The Heart Of Xurdimur' was a self-contained story, rather than splitting it between two or more issues.
