Story[]
Wilykat's Wish, part 2 of 3:[]
Written by Dwight Jon Zimmerman and Ian Rimmer
Art by Jim Mooney, Dave Harwood, Dozy & Euan Peters
Wilykat begins his time as Lord of the ThunderCats. He sets Panthro and Tygra to work redesigning Cats’ Lair in his image and has Cheetara and Wilykit act as servants while he lazes around. Despite doing nothing himself, he still finds fault in their work. Eventually, Cheetara loses her temper with him. Just as she begins taking Wilykat to task, the Mutants attack the arguing ThunderCats. With Wilykat unable to master the Sword of Omens, the situation looks grim...
The Luck Curse:[]
Written by John Gatehouse
While walking through the forest, Lion-O finds Mongor attacking an old man. He chases the demon off and the old man insists on giving him an amulet as reward. But the old man is really Mumm-Ra, who gloats that the ThunderCats will soon face their downfall. As he returns to Cats’ Lair, Lion-O is beset by falling trees and other misfortunes. He enters Panthro’s workshop just for the ceiling to collapse. Barely saving his friend in time, Lion-O then loses the Sword of Omens as Panthro’s latest invention goes haywire and sucks it through a portal. Still in shock, Cheetara bursts into the room to say that Mutants have taken the Lair, closely followed by a gloating Mumm-Ra.
Later, the ThunderCats are in a dungeon when Jaga appears to warn Lion-O against accepting gifts from strangers. When Mumm-Ra arrives to find out the location of the Sword, Lion-O attacks him but is stunned by Monkian. Even so, Lion-O looks pleased with himself, for he realises that the amulet is the source of his bad luck and the old man must have been Mumm-Ra. Things immediately start to go wrong for the Mutants as the hinges on the cell door fall off and Cats’ Lair begins to crumble around them. Mumm-Ra retreats and the ThunderCats are free. Lion-O announces that he hid thee amulet in Mumm-Ra’s cape and they retrieve the Sword of Omens, their run of bad luck at an end.
