Vulatiare was a prefect of the futuristic floating city of Avista who eventually joins forces with Mumm-Ra and becomes a general of his army.
A rather cultured and somewhat arrogant member of the Bird Race, Vultaire's ancestors were entrusted with the Tech Stone by Leo which they used to erect the floating city of Avista
Upon the ThunderCats' arrival on Avista, Vultaire refuses to hand them the Tech Stone but eventually accepts Tygra's challenge for the item. However, when Vultaire loses to Tygra, he refuses to honor his end of the bargain, instead placing the ThunderCats under house arrest.
The ThunderCats manage to escape and Pumyra takes Vultaire as hostage, forcing him to take them to the Tech Stone's chamber. However, Vultaire turns the tables on the ThunderCats and nearly has them thrown out of Avista when Mumm-Ra and his army attack. He decides to let the ThunderCats stay and help him fight off Mumm-Ra but upon seeing Mumm-Ra's powers, he switches alliances and joins up with Mumm-Ra, earning a place in the mummy's army as a general alongside Slithe, Kaynar, and Addicus. After Mumm-Ra obtains the Tech Stone, Vultaire retreats from Avista along with the rest of Mumm-Ra's army.
Strengths[]
Vultaire is very intelligent and highly knowledgeable in the history of his people as well as other races. He is also a very skilled pilot.
Weaknesses[]
Vultaire possesses little strength and experience and such can be easily defeated in hand-to-hand combat.
He is also very arrogant as well as a coward, choosing to flee from a dangerous situation instead of fighting.

- Despite being similar in design to his 1980's counterpart, Vultaire has two giant wings while the original Vultureman did not.
